Prof. Tore Brinck

KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden

Tore Brinck is Professor of Physical Chemistry and Quantum Chemistry at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He received his M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the KTH in 1990, and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of New Orleans, USA in 1993. Brinck is one of the main developers of the molecular surface property approach (MSPA) for characterizing the local interaction tendencies of a molecule using surface properties computed from the electronic structure. He has recently extended the MSPA to crystalline surfaces and nanostructured materials, and it has been instrumental for characterizing the catalytic properties of nanostructured gold and other noble metals. Brinck´s current focus is on the computational development and analysis of heterogenous electrocatalysts. He has authored more than 160 scientific articles and several book chapters.
