Nur Atik is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran. He completed his doctoral degree at the Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University, Japan, in 2014. Following the completion of his doctoral studies, he was awarded a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Department of Cell Biology at Osaka University. In 2023, he obtained a Master of Health Research Ethics (MHRE) from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Malaysia.

His expertise includes molecular trafficking, molecular mechanisms, and genetic engineering. In recent years, he has expanded his research interests into the field of immunology. Together with colleagues from the Division of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Department of Internal Medicine, he initiated research in 2016 investigating the relationships between inflammatory status, oxidative stress, metabolic disturbances, and lipid profile abnormalities in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

He has published numerous original research articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as book chapters. He currently serves as the Director of Research, Downstream, and Community Engagement at Universitas Padjadjaran, where he is actively involved in research development, innovation, research downstreaming, and community engagement.
