Michael Jerrett, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences and Co-Director of the Center for Healthy Climate Solutions at UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health. With a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Toronto, Dr. Jerrett has held academic appointments at prestigious institutions including UC Berkeley and McMaster University. His research focuses on environmental health, air pollution, climate change, and their impacts on public health, with numerous high-impact publications and leadership in large-scale epidemiological studies. Dr. Jerrett has received multiple honors, including the Jonathan E. Fielding Endowed Chair in Climate Change and Public Health and the Excellence in Exposure Science Award. He actively contributes to national and international advisory committees and editorial boards. His work integrates advanced spatial modeling and exposure assessment to inform policies addressing environmental justice and health equity. Dr. Jerrett is also deeply involved in mentoring graduate students and advancing interdisciplinary approaches to environmental health challenges.
