Prof. Irini Angelidaki is a Professor at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. Her research focuses on biotechnology, microbiology, anaerobic digestion, resource recovery, bioelectrochemical systems, and development of sustainable bioprocesses for the circular bioeconomy. She is particularly recognised for advancing biological conversion of organic wastes, CO₂, and renewable gases into valuable products such as biofuels, bioplastics, and other biochemicals. The recent years her focus is in synthetic microbial consortia for biotechnological processes.
