Chair: Emmanuel Clouet

CEA, France

Emmanuel Clouet is a Research Director in the Physical Metallurgy Laboratory at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). He joined CEA in 2004, following appointments as a visiting scientist at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his PhD in Physics in 2004 from École Centrale Paris, for research conducted at CEA and at Pechiney (now Constellium). His research focuses on elucidating the physical mechanisms governing microstructure evolution and mechanical properties in metals and alloys used as structural materials, with particular emphasis on crystal plasticity, irradiation effects, and precipitation phenomena. His work combines numerical simulations and multiscale modeling, spanning from the atomic to the mesoscopic scale, in close integration with experimental investigations. He has served as an editor of Acta Materialia and Scripta Materialia since 2016.
