Dr. Christina E. Hoicka is an Associate Professor. She studies the geography of sustainability transitions, with a focus on renewable energy transitions and how to accelerate the diffusion of demand-side low-carbon innovations.

Dr. Hoicka has investigated the role of renewable energy in a Green New Deal and in reconciliation in Canada; the implementation of new renewable energy communities legislation in the European Union; and the development of a novel frameworkto measure the potential for existing low-carbon innovations to disrupt and decarbonize energy systems. She is currently investigating urban cities, regional approaches, and clusters of innovations in renewable energy transitions
