Baron Wolf

Wolf has experience working in institutional research, effectiveness, assessment and strategic planning within higher education.

His work has focused on the use of data analytics to make strategic business decisions and process improvement. He is a member of the International Network of Research Management Societies (INORMS) Research Evaluation Working Group. An international group of practioners working towards fair research assessment practices. Dr. Wolf serves at the Assistant Vice President for Research & Chief of Staff at the University of Kentucky. In this role, he serves senior leadership as an advisor on strategic priorities, programs, and services that support the research community across campus. In addition, Dr. Wolf is the Director of Research Analytics which maintains robust research business intelligence tools, data analytics, reporting, analysis, and assessment tools. His professional research interests include the use of data analytics and business intelligence in decision-making, and impact of social network analysis. Personal research interests include equality issues related to gender and sexual minority populations, campus climate, and capacity building. He teaches data analytics and visualization courses at the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Wolf is the principal investigator on a National Science Foundation funded research project related to data-informed decision making within research administration and is also a co-investigator on a National Institutes of Health granted focused on building research support capacity and skills at NIH R-16 eligible institutions (Support for Research Excellence Program).
