Clinical Skills will help hospitals provide training and reinforcement of clinical skills to a range of audiences including nurses, healthcare assistants, and students but you must follow local policies and processes regarding technique, equipment used and documentation. They are not intended to provide medical advice or substitute for the judgment of healthcare professionals in patient care.

Each skill includes:

  • Summary - short skill summary
  • Checklist - for competency reviews
  • Equipment needed to perform the skill
  • Self-test - offering immediate marking and rationale
  • Skill overview – in-depth description of the skills including rationales, important considerations and references
  • References – literature references, further reading and useful web links
  • Video – demonstration of the skill
