Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced the publication of the sixth edition of Murray & Nadel's Textbook of Respiratory Medicine, 2-Volume Set.

Similar to its previous editions, Murray & Nadel’s Textbook of Respiratory Medicine is a comprehensive reference on all aspects of pulmonary medicine and the most definitive content on basic science, diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of the full spectrum of respiratory diseases. The new edition will be showcased at the American Thoracic Society (ATS) 2015 Conference held in Denver, Colo., May 15-20, 2015.

Murray & Nadel’s Textbook of Respiratory Medicine is written for fellows, academic faculty and practicing pulmonologists who need a comprehensive resource for diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of the full spectrum of respiratory diseases,” said Editor-in-Chief V. Courtney Broaddus, MD, John F. Murray Distinguished Professor of Medicine, University of California San Francisco. “It includes 106 chapters, either new or updated, with detailed explanations of each disease entity, providing necessary steps to determine difficult diagnoses.  Also included with EACH hardcopy textbook is the Expert Consult eBook platform that provides an enhanced eBook experience, offering content updates, 200 videos and audio recordings, 2000 figures, review questions and Thoracic Imaging Cases (TICs).”

While Murray & Nadel’s Textbook of Respiratory Medicine remains a staple textbook for fellows to practicing physicians, the sixth edition offers significant updates including more than 2,000 figures and over 200 video and audio files. The new edition also includes an expanded sleep section and new chapters in Critical Care covering Noninvasive Ventilation (NIV) and Extracorporeal Support of Gas Exchange (ECMO), diagnostic techniques including Invasive Diagnostic Imaging and Image-Guided Interventions and Positron Emission Tomography, and Therapeutic Bronchoscopy highlighting the interventional role of pulmonologists.
