Elsevier Announces New Partnership With American Urological Association
New York, April 26, 2005 - The Journal of Urology, the most widely read source of research in the field of clinical and investigative urology, will have a new publishing home, thanks to a newly announced partnership between the American Urological Association (AUA) and world-leading scientific and medical publisher Elsevier. Under the extended agreement, Elsevier will begin publishing The Journal of Urology, the official journal of the AUA, in January 2006.
Martin I. Resnick, M.D., the Lester Persky Professor of Urology and chairman of the Urology Department at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, will continue to serve as Editor. Dr. Resnick is also the Immediate Past President of the AUA.
"For AUA, Elsevier offers the expertise, resources, and global presence to help us capitalize on the success of our publishing program," comments Dr. Resnick, Editor. “We believe the new arrangement will further consolidate The Journal of Urology's position as the leading journal in our specialty. The AUA looks forward to exploring new avenues to further our mission of promoting and disseminating the most current and critical information to urologists.”
More than 18,000 subscribers look to The Journal of Urology for comprehensive, tightly focused coverage of current studies in adult and pediatric urology, along with monthly literature surveys on topics of special interest. These and other features—including editorials, reviews, letters, and continuing medical education opportunities—combine to make The Journal of Urology indispensable reading for physicians and researchers dedicated to keeping abreast in this constantly evolving specialty area.
“Partnership with the AUA provides unique and exciting opportunities for Elsevier, complementing and enriching our role as a provider of information to the urology community,” comments Glen Campbell, Senior Vice President of the U.S. Health Sciences Journals Division at Elsevier. "Going forward, we foresee innovative new strategies for disseminating research and educational information in this increasingly important specialty."
