For more than 35 years, this meeting has catalysed interactions to further this ever-expanding area. Biosensors harness the exquisite recognition capabilities of biological systems and combine them with physicochemical transducers to deliver simple, easy to use diagnostic systems for an ever-expanding range of applications to improve health, wellbeing, and the environment.

The program features daily plenary presentations followed by parallel sessions comprising a rigorously refereed selection of submitted papers and highly interactive poster sessions. Selected high quality selected oral contributions will be included as extended keynote presentations.

Topics will include:

  • Bioelectronics (including biocomputing, bio-fuel and photovoltaic cells, and electronic noses)

  • Commercial biosensors, manufacturing and markets

  • Nucleic acid-based sensors and aptasensors

  • Enzyme-based biosensors

  • Immunosensors

  • Lab-on-a-chip, multiplexed and multimodal sensors

  • Microfluidics and immobilisation technology

  • Wearable biosensors and personal mobile health

  • Nanobiosensors, nanomaterials & nanoanalytical systems

  • Natural & synthetic receptors (including MIPs)

  • Organism-, whole cell- and organ-based biosensors

  • Printed biosensors and microfabrication

  • Proteomics, single-cell analysis and cancer-cell detection

  • Signal transduction technology

  • Single molecule detection

  • Theranostics, implantable, ingestible and resorbable sensors

Special Issue

Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research, and Sensors and Actuators Reports will be publishing a Special Issue across three titles for the 35rd Anniversary World Congress on Biosensors (Biosensors 2025). Authors whose abstracts have been accepted and the corresponding presentation (oral or poster) has been presented at Biosensors 2025 will be invited to submit a Review Article or Full-length manuscript, for consideration of publication in a virtual special issue devoted to the Congress in Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Sensing and Biosensing Research or Sensors and Actuators Reports.

You are invited to submit your manuscript at any time before the submission deadline. For any inquiries about the appropriateness of contribution topics, please contact Guest Editors.

All authors will have a choice to submit to Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Sensing and Biosensing Research or Sensors and Actuators Reports.

The journal's submission platforms:

Biosensors and Bioelectronics: Editorial Manager®

Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research: Editorial Manager®

Sensors and Actuators Reports: Editorial Manager®

Please refer to the Guide for Authors to prepare your manuscript and select the article type of "VSI: Biosensors 2025" when submitting your manuscript online. Both the Guide for Authors and the submission portal could be found on the Journal Homepage.

Submission deadline: 31 October 2025

Supporting publications

Biosensors & Bioelectronics is the principal international journal devoted to research, design, development and application of biosensors and bioelectronics. It is an interdisciplinary journal serving professionals with an interest in the exploitation of biological materials and designs in novel diagnostic and electronic devices including sensors, DNA chips, electronic noses, lab-on-a-chip and μ-TAS.

Biosensors & Bioelectronics

Biosensors and Bioelectronics: X is the open access mirror journal of Biosensors and Bioelectronics.

Biosensors and Bioelectronics: X offers authors with high-quality research who want to publish in a gold open access journal the opportunity to make their work immediately, permanently, and freely accessible.

Biosensors and Bioelectronics: X

Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research is an open access journal devoted to research, design development and application of all bio-sensing and sensing technologies. The editors will accept reviews and papers of obvious relevance, which describe important new concepts, underpin understanding of the above areas of interest or provide important insights into the practical application, manufacture and commercialisation of bio-sensing and sensing technologies.

Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research

Sensors and Actuators Reports is a peer-reviewed open access journal launched out from the Sensors and Actuators journal family. Sensors and Actuators Reports is dedicated to publishing new and original works in the field of all type of sensors and actuators, including bio-, chemical-, physical-, and nano- sensors and actuators, which demonstrates significant progress beyond the current state of the art. The journal regularly publishes original research papers, reviews, and short communications.
