Vural Gökmen is professor in the Food Engineering Department at Hacettepe University, Türkiye. He established the Food Quality and Safety Research Group known as FoQuS in 2004.
He has made significant contributions to the understanding of the effects of the process on food quality and safety. He carried out numerous projects focussing on different aspects of food science, given lectures, and collaborated with leading research groups. To his credit, Prof. Gökmen has published over 280 articles and over 20 international books and book chapters based on original research results. His publications have been cited more than 10000 times (h-index 54).
