Juan J. de Pablo

Liew Family Professor

Juan de Pablo is the Liew Family Professor of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago. He also serves as the Executive Vice President for Science, Innovation and National Laboratories. His research focuses on theoretical and computational studies of soft materials, including colloids, liquid crystals and polymers. He is the author of over 650 publications and a textbook.

De Pablo is a member of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Mexican Academy of Sciences. He is a fellow of the APS and the RSC. He is the recipient of multiple awards and recognitions, including the APS Prize in Polymer Physics, the AIChE Stine Award, the Dupont Prize for Excellence in Health Sciences, and the Intel Patterning Award. De Pablo was the founding editor of Molecular Systems Design and Engineering, and has served as editor for several other journals, including Science Advances, Physical Review Letters, and Macromolecules.
