We are delighted to announce that the 2nd Transportation Research Symposium 2027 will take place from the 11-14 July 2027 at the Singapore Expo, Singapore.
Building on the success of the inaugural Transportation Research Symposium in Rotterdam, Elsevier is bringing the conference to Asia for its next edition in Singapore – one of the world’s leading transportation and logistics hubs. As a global gateway for aviation, maritime trade, urban mobility, and smart infrastructure innovation, Singapore provides an ideal setting to explore the future of transportation research and practice.
The Transportation Research Symposium (TRS) is organised with editors of Elsevier’s Transportation Research (TR) family of journals and related transport journals, which collectively cover the full breadth of scientific, technological, and practical aspects of transportation research. Reflecting the scope and excellence of these journals, TRS offers a truly international platform for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry leaders to present cutting-edge research and engage with the latest developments across the field.
The conference is designed not only as a venue to showcase new research, but also as a collaborative forum where attendees can exchange ideas, receive valuable feedback, build new partnerships, and connect directly with Editors-in-Chief and editorial teams from leading transportation journals. Dedicated “Meet the Editor” sessions, roundtables, themed discussions, and networking events will create opportunities for meaningful dialogue across academia, industry, and policy.
TRS also provides opportunities for publication. A large number of Special Issues linked to participating journals are expected to be launched in connection with the conference, giving attendees the opportunity to develop and submit full papers based on their conference presentations. All submissions will undergo the standard peer-review process of the respective journals.

Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives (TRIP)opens in new tab/window is an addition to the family which accepts papers on any topic within the scope of any of Parts A-F. It is an interdisciplinary journal concerned with any and all social science aspects of transportation.
Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practiceopens in new tab/window considers papers dealing with policy analysis (design, formulation and evaluation); planning; interaction with the political, socioeconomic and physical environments; and management and evaluation of transport systems.
Transportation Research Part B: Methodologicalopens in new tab/window publishes papers on all methodological aspects of the subject, particularly those that require mathematical analysis. The general theme of the journal is the development and solution of problems that are adequately motivated to deal with important aspects of the design and/or analysis of transportation systems.
The focus of Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologiesopens in new tab/window is high-quality, scholarly research that addresses development, applications, and implications, in the field of transportation systems and emerging technologies.
Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environmentopens in new tab/window publishes original research on the environmental impacts of transportation, policy responses to those impacts, and their implications for the design, planning, and management of transportation systems.
Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Reviewopens in new tab/window publishes informative and high quality articles drawn from across the spectrum of logistics and transportation research.
Transportation Research Part F: Traffic Psychology and Behaviouropens in new tab/window focuses on the behavioural and psychological aspects of traffic and transport.
Transportation Research Today opens in new tab/window(TRT) is a new addition to the Transportation Research family and aspires to establish itself as a premier platform for top-tier, impactful content that informs practice, shapes policy, and drives the future of transportation.
We expect at least 10 Special Issues linked to the conference to be launched in advance of the event, providing attendees with the opportunity to submit a full paper after presenting their research at the conference. These Special Issues will be opened across our transportation journals, including the Transportation Research Part A-F series.
The program will include invited plenary lectures, contributed talks and poster sessions highlighting the latest transportation research. The program will be curated by a committee of world class academic leaders in their respective fields.
