Ir. Dr. Zong Yang KONG (Savier)

Savier is currently a Senior Lecturer at Sunway University, Malaysia. He earned his (part-time) Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology whilst working full-time as a project manager in the industry. Savier has published over 80 peer-reviewed journal articles in reputable Chemical Engineering journals, with more than 65% as first or corresponding author. Nearly 80% of his publications appear in Q1 or Q2 ranked journals. He currently serves as an Editorial Board Member for Separation and Purification Technology (Elsevier) and as an Advisory Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology (Wiley). Savier has recently won multiple research awards, including the “Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer Award” from the Society of Chemical Engineering Japan and a Highly Commended distinction at the IChemE Global Young Researcher Awards 2024. Savier is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
