Talk title: Using Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) models to model life cycles and life-history traits of organisms - an introduction

Rudjer Boskovic Institute, Croatia abd University of Western Australia, Australia

Dr. Nina Marn is a biologist applying Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) models in her research. Her focus is on individuals in the aquatic (sea turtles, fish, crayfish, mussels) and terrestrial (lizards, birds, earthworms) environments. Overarching research aims are to help understand better the physiology of studied species, and their responses to stressors - climate change, anthropogenic pollution - with emphasis on quantifying effects of plastics ingestion. Currently she is a research associate at Rudjer Boskovic Institute in Zagreb, Croatia, and an adjunct researcher of University of Western Australia in Perth, WA.
