CRETUS
CRETUS (Centre for Cross-disciplinary Research in Environmental Technologies) is a leading research centre at the University of Santiago de Compostela dedicated to addressing major environmental challenges through innovative solutions based on a holistic and interdisciplinary approach. By bringing together expertise from the experimental sciences, engineering, social sciences and the humanities, CRETUS advances the diagnosis of environmental problems, the development of sustainable technologies, and the evaluation of solutions to tackle complex environmental challenges. This distinctive approach enables the Centre to pursue a scientific agenda closely aligned with environmental policies and sustainability objectives at both national and international levels. The Centre brings together around 160 researchers and technical staff, fostering collaboration across disciplines to maximise the scientific and societal impact of its research.
Recognised by the Regional Government of Galicia as a Centre of Excellence under its CIGUS programme, CRETUS is among a select group of research centres distinguished for their outstanding scientific quality and impact.
