Biomensio
Biomensio is a Finnish biotech company that spun off from Siemens and VTT Technology Research Centre of Finland in 2016. Biomensio is developing a novel biosensing platform for rapid detection of multiple analytes from a small sample volume at point-of-need.
In the heart of our technology is Mass Sensitive Micro-Array (MSMA), a silicon biochip consisting of an array of microscopic weighing scale pixels, each capable of detecting a different analytes from the single sample. Our handheld analyser contains all components needed for rapid screening of analytes: the end user is only required to put sample droplet on the cartridge, push it into the analyser and wait for the results. We have recently demonstrated our technology for detection of antibiotic residues in milk at production site. Other applications we are targeting include drugs-of-abuse detection from saliva, mycotoxin detection from grains and seeds, as well as biomarkers in human diagnostics.
