What are Share Links?

A Share Link is a personalized link you receive when your article is published on ScienceDirect. It gives anyone who clicks it 50 days of free access — no sign-up or registration required. After 50 days, the link automatically redirects to your full-text article under the usual access terms. The majority of Elsevier journals offer Share Links. Share Links are ideal for sharing via email and social media, putting your research directly in the hands of readers who matter to you.

How it works

• You will automatically receive your Share Link by email when your article reaches the final citable publication stage. Check the guide for authors to confirm whether your chosen journal offers Share Links

• If several authors are listed, the named corresponding author receives the Share Link first — share it with your co-authors directly

• If co-author information was provided at submission, co-authors will also automatically receive a notification with the Share Link

• After 50 days, the Share Link continues to work, redirecting to your full-text article
