Wei Gong

Wei Gong is Vice-President of Wuhan University, leader of a Ministry of Education Innovation Team, and Director of the Perception and Effectiveness Assessment for Carbon-neutrality Efforts, Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education. He is also a Distinguished Professor under the National Major Talent Program of the Ministry of Education and a Leading Talent under the National High-Level Talent Special Support Program. His research focuses on the technology and applications of laser and optical remote sensing, including advanced laser remote sensing technologies for atmospheric and land-surface observations, optical and laser remote sensing data processing, and quantitative applications of optical and laser spatial information. Prof. Gong has served as Membership Development Chair of IEEE Section, Co-chair of the ISPRS Working Group VI/4, and Director of the International Research Center of Satellite Remote Sensing and Atmospheric Monitoring at Wuhan University. He also served as Chairman of The First Multispectral Lidar Workshop held in Hong Kong.
