Philip C. Wong, Ph.D., Professor of Pathology and Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, directs basic and translational research programs in neurodegenerative disease over the past three decades. Dr. Wong received his Ph.D. from Western University in Canada and did a post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins where he subsequently moved through the ranks. His efforts focuson pathogenic mechanisms and presymptomatic biomarkers of TDP-43 dysfunction in ALS-FTD and Alzheimer’s Disease. Recently, Dr. Wong has developed novel mouse and human iPSC-derived models as well as fluid biomarkers of neurodegenerative disorders to reveal their pathophysiology and validate novel therapeutic strategies.
