Professor Sarah Main joins Elsevier as Vice President for Academic and Government Relations, UK

Professor Main brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role at Elsevier. With a distinguished career in scientific research and policy, she has played a pivotal role in advancing science and promoting collaboration between academia, industry, and government.
In her new position, Professor Main will be responsible for guiding Elsevier's scientific strategy, fostering innovation, and ensuring the company continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of global research. Her deep understanding of the scientific landscape and commitment to open science align seamlessly with Elsevier's mission to support the global research community.

Professor Main holds a BA in Natural Sciences, specialising in molecular biology from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Molecular Biology from University College London / Cancer Research UK London Research Institute. She has held various leadership roles, including as a trustee of the British Science Association and the Foundation for Science and Technology. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology; an Honorary Professor at University College London; and Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor in Innovation, Policy and Society at the University of Westminster.
