Jessica obtained her PhD in organic supramolecular chemistry from Queen Mary University of London in 2015. This was followed by postdoctoral research at University College London and the University of Oxford, with projects in medicinal and supramolecular chemistry respectively. She started her editorial career at Elsevier in 2021 as scientific editor on the Tetrahedron organic chemistry journal series, and joined Cell Press in 2023 as editor of Trends in Chemistry.
