Gene Yeo

University of California, San Diego, USA

Gene W. Yeo, Ph.D., MBA, is Professor of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at UC San Diego and a global leader in RNA biology and neurodegeneration. His lab integrates experimental and computational approaches to dissect how RNA-binding proteins and RNA processing drive neurological disease. Pioneering technologies such as enhanced CLIP, STAMP, and RNA-targeting CRISPR have enabled mechanistic insights and therapeutic strategies in ALS, myotonic dystrophy, and Huntington’s disease. Dr. Yeo directs the Center for RNA Technologies and Therapeutics and is Chief Scientist at Sanford Laboratories, leading efforts to translate RNA metabolism insights into treatments for neurodegenerative disorders.
