Dr Allison Imrie is an Associate Professor in the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Western Australia. She received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology from University of Sydney and her PhD from University of New South Wales with a thesis examining transmitted HIV-I. Her current research focuses on virus discovery, and genomics and immunopathogenesis of mosquito-borne viruses that circulate in the Indo Pacific region including viruses that are endemic or introduced to Australia. She has served as an adviser for governments, and WHO, to assess health security and laboratory strengthening in the Indo Pacific.
