Polish institutions

Elsevier and Polish Consortium have entered a pilot agreement which provides researchers from Polish institutions access to Elsevier journals, while supporting open access publishing. When publishing in applicable Elsevier journals, authors will be able to publish open access at reduced or no additional cost to the author.


  • The author must be the corresponding author affiliated with an eligible institution.
  • The article must have a submission date of on or after January 1st, 2019

On publication, the final published article will be made freely available on ScienceDirect under the author’s choice of open access license (CC-BY and CC-BY-NC-ND).

How to publish your article Open Access?

Once your article is accepted for publication in an applicable journal, you will be presented with the open access publishing option. All open access articles will be published with your choice among two reuse licenses: CC-BY or CC-BY-NC-ND.

Green open access

In addition to the open access pilot agreement between Elsevier and the Polish consortium, Polish authors can continue to choose to publish under the subscription model and self-archive their manuscript (green open access) in line with Elsevier’s sharing policy.
