Sangho Lee

Sangho Lee is a chemical and environmental engineer with a PhD from Seoul National University in Korea. He has been working on advanced water treatment and management since 1999 when he joined Northwestern University in United States. From 2003 to 2011, he was a senior researcher in Korea Institute of Construction Technology (KICT), Korea. He is currently a professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering in Kookmin University, Korea.

His work bridges fundamental research and practical implementation, contributing to both academic advancements and large-scale engineering applications in the water sector. He has devoted to practical implementation of emerging desalination technologies, including membrane distillation (MD), forward osmosis (FO), and pressure retarded osmosis (PRO). He has also worked on industrial water treatment technologies such as ultrapure water production, wastewater reclamation for unconventional oil and gas development, zero discharge systems, and smart water management. He has authored more than 170 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, and is also on the Editorial Boards of Desalination and Environmental Engineering Research.
