At the forefront of mechanobiology lies the critical challenge of understanding how mechanical forces drive the fundamental mechanisms of life. As pioneers in this emerging field have demonstrated, the intersection of biology, engineering, physics, chemistry, and medicine has revealed unprecedented insights into mechanotransduction pathways and their roles in development, disease progression, and therapeutic innovation. Yet many compelling questions remain about the complex interplay between mechanical forces and biological systems—questions that demand the collective expertise of the field's leading investigators. The ICM brings together a diverse community of researchers, scientists, and clinicians to explore and extend the latest advances in mechanobiology. This field studies how cells produce, sense, and respond to mechanical forces. By uniting experts from biology, physics, engineering, materials science, and medicine, the ICM will facilitate discussions of cutting-edge advances and their implications for development, disease, and therapeutic applications.
