Piezoelectric Cytometry
Hunan Provincial Engineering Research Center for Cell Mechanics and Function Analysis, relying on Hunan Agricultural University was approved for establishment by the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology in December 2019. The engineering center carries out systematic research on the common key technologies of cell mechanics and functional analysis, with a focus on applications in modern agriculture and human health. The core technology of the engineering center is based on the double resonator piezoelectric cytometry (DRPC) which can simultaneously measure cellular forces and viscoelasticity in a real-time and non-destructive manner, pioneered by the team of Prof. Tiean Zhou, director of the center. The first generation of 32-Channel Cell Mechanics and Function Analyzer prototype based on the DRPC principle has been successfully developed.
