Lee Yook Heng

Lee Yook Heng is currently an honorable professor at the Department of Chemical Sciences after serving about 40 years at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He obtained his PhD from the Institute of Biotechnology, University of Cambridge and MSc from the Department of Physical Chemistry, Cambridge University, England. His main field of research is in the usage of acrylic materials for chemical and biosensor applications especially for DNA biosensors and aptasensors. He has been a council member and fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry, fellow of Malaysian Academy of Sciences and fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, England. He has published widely in the area of DNA biosensors and among the pioneers in developing the science and technology of sensor in Malaysia. He is also the co-founder of the Malaysian Society for Sensor Technology Development and has been the past president of the society.
