Douwe van Sinderen is Full Professor of Molecular Microbiology at University College Cork, Ireland, and holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands.
Douwe’s research activities investigate molecular interactions between lactic acid bacteria and their infecting bacteriophages, as well as fundamental and applied aspects of bifidobacteria, in particular their comparative and functional genomics.
He is (co-)author of over 600 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals, listed as inventor on 24 patents, and has a current h-index of 124 in google scholar.
