Dr. Alicia An is a Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Her research on advanced membranes for water-energy applications has resulted in over 150 publications. She received the RGC Research Fellow award from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council in 2022. In 2024, she was appointed to the XPRIZE Water Scarcity Advisory Board. Dr. An has served as a technical advisor for Hong Kong’s Tseung Kwan O desalination project and supports start-ups focused on sustainable water solutions.
