Dr. David M. Bastidas is a Materials & Corrosion consultant and Research and Innovation lead with ROSEN in the Integrity Solutions Engineering Department. Dr. Bastidas gained his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Barcelona (Spain).

Dr. D.M. Bastidas is Fellow with AMPP, and the Inaugural winner of the new ECS Corrosion Division Rusty Award for Mid-Career Excellence 2022, as well as the Inaugural recipient of the National Corrosion Award of Excellence in 2020 for his research and teaching achievements. He received the Outstanding Campus Advisor Award and Outstanding Faculty Engagement Award in 2022. He has been distinguished by Stanford University Ranking of The World’s Top Contributors to their fields of Science 2024.

Dr. David M Bastidas is Associate Editor of Engineering Failure Analysis journal (Elsevier); Associate Editor of Corrosion and Materials Degradation journal (MDPI); and Guest Associate Editor of Corrosion journal (AMPP). Editorial Board member of Corrosion Engineering Science and Technology journal, and npj-Materials Degradation journal (Nature).

Dr. D.M. Bastidas is member of AMPP Research Committee, and serves as chair of AMPP Research in Progress Symposium in Infrastructure, and chair of Technical Symposium on Pipeline Safety and Asset Integrity Management, as well as chair of the International Conference on Corrosion and Materials Degradation.

In addition, he serves as vice-chair of the Corrosion Technical Committee of PRCI (Pipeline Research Council International). He also serves on the INGAA Steering Committee for contractors capabilities (Interstate Natural Gas Association of America), as well as API Committee on carbon dioxide transportation (American Petroleum Institute). He is former vice- chair of Corrosion in Infrastructure at the EFC (European Federation of Corrosion).
