Dubai, February 21, 2024 – The Ministry of Health and Prevention, UAE has unveiled the MoHAP Research Portal opens in new tab/window a cutting-edge expertise identification and collaboration platform, developed in partnership with Elsevier. This innovative portal houses an extensive database of over 4000 scholarly profiles in the health and biomedical domain, all based in the UAE. The announcement was made at the Arab Health Congress 2024 in Dubai, a globally recognized event that brought together industry professionals and healthcare companies from more than 180 countries.
Acknowledging the paramount importance of collaboration in fostering effective research teams, the Ministry aims to streamline the process of finding suitable partners for research initiatives within the UAE. The platform is designed to facilitate easier identification of experts in specific domains within the health and biomedical community, ultimately accelerating research collaboration. Additionally, the Portal aims to showcase the impactful work of UAE-based researchers, highlighting their contributions on a global scale.
The development of this platform was entrusted to Elsevier, leveraging the Pure Research Information System, a proven and widely adopted solution utilized by over 400 health and research institutions worldwide. The MoHAP research portal features an extensive collection of publications curated from reputable journals in Elsevier Scopus. The Elsevier Fingerprint Engine(TM) is employed to rapidly identify experts or publications, utilizing the world's largest science, health, and medical taxonomy. Pure automatically categorizes works against the 16 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), allowing the public to discover scholarly research aligned with the global sustainability objectives.
Looking ahead to the project's second phase, the platform is poised to incorporate clinical trials. This expansion will further solidify the platform as a holistic solution for exploring, and advancing research initiatives in the healthcare sector.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention continues to be at the forefront, leveraging technology to drive impactful advancements in health and biomedical research. This partnership with Elsevier is aligned with the Ministry's objective of improving the skills and knowledge of the health professionals and researchers and promoting the growth of academic research in health sciences in UAE.
