Yan Lu
Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, Germany
Yan Lu is the head of Institute for Electrochemical Energy Storage at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien and Energie (HZB) and co-director of the Helmholtz Institute for Polymers in Energy Applications Jena (HIPOLE Jena). She is also professor of Hybrid Materials for Electrochemical Energy Storage and Conversion at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. She received her PhD in 2005 with summa cum laude at Dresden University of Technology, Germany. She was selected as top female researchers (W2/W3-Programme) in Helmholtz Association in 2015. Since 2021, she is co-Editor of the journal “Journal of Colloid and Interface Science” (Elsevier) and associate Editor of the journal "Advanced Fiber Materials" (Springer Nature). Her research focuses on functional hybrid particles with tailored mesoscopic structures, covering not only their synthesis and application as energy storage materials and catalysts, but also the understanding of their function by advanced characterization methods.
