Paolo Ronchi, PhD

Paolo Ronchi is the Translational Chemistry and Technology Innovation Unit Head at Chiesi Farmaceutici S.p.A. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Milan in 2007, working on carbohydrate analogues total synthesis. Paolo completed post-doctoral fellowships at the Università degli Studi di Milano in 2008 under Prof. Luigi Lay, and at Politecnico di Milano from 2009 to 2010 under Prof. Claudio Fuganti. In 2011, Paolo joined BIRIT (Boehringer-Ingelheim Research Italy) as a medicinal chemistry research associate, working on CNS diseases. Since 2013, he has been with Chiesi Farmaceutici, applying his expertise in organic chemistry. In 2022, he became the head of the Translational Chemistry and Technology Innovation Unit, focusing on innovating the chemical aspects of drug discovery.
