Oriol Marquet

Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain

Oriol Marquet is an Associate Professor at UAB’s Department of Geography, and the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA-UAB). He co-leads the Mobility, Transport and Land-use Studies Group (GEMOTT). Previously, he worked at the Center for Geospatial Analytics (North Carolina State University) and at ISGlobal (Barcelona Institute for Global Health). His research examines how urban form, accessibility, and proximity shape travel behaviour, and how planning can support more sustainable, equitable, and healthy mobility systems. He currently leads the ERC-funded ATRAPA project, which investigates the public acceptability, and potential backlash, toward built-environment interventions designed to improve urban accessibility.
