Dr. Martínez-Ibañez leads the Organic and Hybrid Materials Group at CIC energiGUNE, directing a multidisciplinary team of over thirty scientists developing advanced materials for next-generation lithium- and sodium-based batteries. Her research focuses on liquid and polymer electrolytes, interfacial materials, and integration of computational and operando methods for rational materials design. She has secured competitive funding as Principal Investigator for public and private projects and coordinates major international consortia, including the SOLIDBAT project on solid-state lithium-metal batteries. Dr. Martínez-Ibañez has authored 58 peer-reviewed publications, five reviews, and one book chapter, with 2,949 citations. She has led ten industrial projects and co-invented 23 patents, bridging fundamental research and industrial applications. Committed to mentoring, she has supervised multiple Master’s, Bachelor’s, and PhD students, currently guiding three doctoral candidates.
