Carla Cher

Carla Cher is an IP and Commercialisation Manager at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University), working within the Research Partnerships and Translation team. Carla has had many years experience as an engineer and a patent attorney and is passionate about seeing research create impact in the big wide world. Carla's professional experience also includes research and development in engineering, intellectual property management, commercialisation, and management, IT, engineering and business consulting where she discovered a love of data and analytics. Carla has a keen interest in innovation, industry engagement, protection of intellectual property and commercialisation to assist innovation growth in Australian industries. She is also passionate about promoting STEAM and encouraging a greater diversity within the profession.
