Ana Percebom

Prof. Ana Percebom

Ana Percebom is a Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and the head of the Macromolecules & Nanoparticles Laboratory. She has received competitive distinctions from Brazilian funding agencies, including the FAPERJ “Young Scientist of Our State” Research Grant, and is a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow. In 2021, she became the first woman to receive the Hans Viertler Prize for Young Scientists from the Brazilian Chemical Society. She is a chemist with a PhD in Physical Chemistry of Colloids and completed her postdoctoral research at the BioNanoPlasmonics Lab in Spain. Her research spans polymers and surfactants, liquid crystals, nanoparticles, and emulsions, with solid expertise in light and X-ray scattering techniques. She has developed strong collaborations with industry partners across several sectors, especially energy and cosmetics.
