Shaping Future Food Systems through Sustainability and Digital Innovation

We look forward to welcoming you to the 2nd Future Foods Congress which will take place in Kyoto, Japan in September 2027 and will be held under the theme: Shaping Future Food Systems through Sustainability and Digital Innovation.
After a successful first edition in Singapore, we are pleased to announce Future Foods Congress 2027, to be held on 27-29 September 2027 in Kyoto, Japan.
Supported by the team of Future Foods (IF 8.2, Q1), Future Foods Congress 2027 will continue to provide a welcoming forum and facilitate conversations, collaboration, and knowledge exchange across the field of sustainable and future food systems.
The conference program will include invited plenary keynote lectures, parallel oral presentation sessions, and poster presentations. These sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including alternative proteins, plant-based foods, cultivated meat and cellular agriculture, precision fermentation, novel ingredients, sustainable food processing, food safety and quality, nutrition and health, consumer perspectives, circular food systems, and digital technologies in food innovation.
Who will attend? Future Foods Congress 2027 welcomes academic and corporate researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, regulatory experts, and others who are interested in contributing to healthier, more sustainable, and more resilient food systems.

A dedicated Journal for sustainability in food science
Future Foods is a dedicated Journal to address the challenges of climate change and sustainability in food production. A transformation of the way food is currently manufactured and consumed is necessary to feed an ever-growing population whilst limiting its environmental impact. Future Foods publishes research that embodies the objective of developing new technologies and food sources for more sustainable food systems.
Special Issue
Future Foods will publish a Special Issue related to Future Foods Congress 2027. We invite submissions for this Special Issue from all presenters (oral and poster) at the event. The issue will open for submissions in the week of the conference.


The program will include invited plenary lectures, contributed talks and poster sessions highlighting the latest research in food science.
