Elsevier’s flagship clinical decision support solution recognized for integrated workflow experience, increased content library and enhanced AI credibility
Elsevier’s ClinicalKey AI has been awarded the MedTech Breakthrough Award for AI Innovation, a program which recognizes the most innovative products in the global digital health market. This is the third consecutive year ClinicalKey AI has won this award since it was launched in February 2024.
ClinicalKey AI is a clinical decision support solution that delivers the latest clinical information at the point of care within the clinical workflow. It combines trusted, evidence-based clinical content with conversational search powered by generative AI and has been recently enhanced with more content, workflow enhancements, and transparency features for confidence and clarity.
In addition to SMART on FHIR integration, new API capabilities allow ClinicalKey AI to be directly added into an organization’s workflow solutions. Accessibility features include native voice-to-text dictation, adult and pediatric toggling for population-focused results and CME credits and MOC for select boards. Clinicians can access subscription resources available at their institution for Elsevier and non-Elsevier content that may be cited in the response through the Link Resolver feature.
Omry Bigger, President of Clinical Solutions at Elsevier said: “It’s a great honor to accept this award from MedTech Breakthrough. Since launching ClinicalKey AI, we’ve made continuous improvements to respond to the needs of our customers. Winning this award reflects the continuous improvements we’ve made to expand the product’s content, reliability and traceability, ensuring clinicians get trusted information quickly when they need it most.”
To expand the evidence-based sources that power AI responses in the tool, ClinicalKey AI has doubled the volume of full-text journal articles and tripled the number of guidelines sets. Society guidelines from multiple specialties have also been incorporated for discipline-specific information, like the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and more.
Steve Johansson, Managing Director at MedTech Breakthrough said “This innovative clinical decision support tool helps transform complexity into clarity. It is vital that AI-powered tools properly support clinicians to provide high-quality patient care and that they are easy to access, provide clear answers, ensure traceability and allow for deeper investigation. ClinicalKey AI helps clinicians navigate complex questions, enhance decision-making at the point of care, and advances safer, more effective patient care across specialties – many congratulations on your third AI Innovation Award win.”
This is the 10th annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards, conducted by MedTech Breakthrough, an independent market intelligence organization that recognizes the most innovative companies, products and technologies in the health technology market.
