Prof. Syed Javaid Zaidi (PhD), szaidi@qu.edu.qa Prof. Syed Javaid Zaidi is Chair Professor of Chemical Engineering and QAFAC Chair in the Center for Advanced Materials, Qatar University, Qatar since July 2015. He has more than twenty years of research experience in the area of clean water and clean energy. He has extensive experience in the desalination research and have supervised more than 20 graduate students in clean water and clean energy. He has published more than 200 papers in International Journals/book chapter, conference proceedings/presentations and 14 US Patents and patent applications. He has conducted joint projects in RO desalination in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA for the development of nano-structured membranes for RO water desalination.

Haleema Saleem (M.Sc. Chem Engg), haleema.saleem@qu.edu.qa Haleema Saleem is a Research Assistant in the Center of advanced materials, Qatar University, and she holds an MSc Degree in Chemical Engineering from Khalifa University (Petroleum Institute), UAE. Haleema has great interest and knowledge in the reverse osmosis membranes and processes. She has good experience working with polymers (Polyamide, polyethylene, polypropylene) and nano-materials (graphene, GO, CNT). She has published 5 papers in high impact international peer-reviewed journals and 10 book chapters. Haleema also has good experience working with instruments for the polymer nano-composite analysis.
