Yuzhong Wang

After earning his PhD degree in Sichuan University (SCU) in 1994, Dr. Yu-Zhong Wang joined SCU faculty, and was promoted to a full Professor in 1995. He is the director of State Key Laboratory of Advanced Polymer Materials, and his research interests focus on fire-retardant polymeric materials, bio-based and biodegradable polymers, recycling and upcycling of polymeric materials, etc. He authored over 600 peer-refereed journal papers with 52 thousand citations, issued 193 patents, and delivered more than 150 invited lectures at different international and national conferences. He founded several research institutions such as National Engineering Laboratory for Eco-Friendly Polymeric Materials (Sichuan), National Engineering Research Center for Advanced Fire-Safety Materials Development and Applications (Shandong) etc.

He is an Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Member of European Academy of Sciences, the Honorary President of China Flame Retardant Society, the vice Presidents of Chinese Materials Research Society, Chinese Society for Composite Materials, Chinese Textile Engineering Society, and Degradable Plastic Committee of CPPIA. He was awarded the National Innovation Prize, the Science & Technology Progress Award of the Ho-Leung-Ho-Lee Foundation), the Highest Award of Sichuan Province for Science and Technology, and thirteen Science & Technology Awards by the State Council, Ministry of Education, Provincial Governments of China.
