Xin Zhao

Dr. Xin Zhao is a Professor at the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Her research focuses on Translational Regenerative Medicine, integrating material science, cell biology, engineering and medicine to modulate cell microenvironments, control cell behaviors and generate tissue-engineered organs, for addressing clinical issues.

She has published over 100 articles (with h-index of 68, Google Scholar) in prestigious journals. She is recognised in the list of “The World’s Top 2% Scientists 2023～2025” by Stanford University for her significant research impact. Her honors include Elsevier’s Biomaterials Award for Young Investigator and the Outstanding Scientist Award by TERMIS-AP. Her translational research product has received multiple international invention awards and secured over 20 grants.
