Profile
Co-Chair : Shijun Zhao
City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Prof. Zhao’s research focuses on multi-component chemically disordered materials. He integrates computational materials science with machine learning to systematically investigate defect thermodynamics, surface effects, and kinetic evolution in these materials under external deformation or irradiation conditions. His work employs multiscale simulation methods, bridging different scales to unravel structure-property relationships. Prof. Zhao has authored over 160 research papers, received more than 9800 citations, and achieved an H-index of 54. Before joining CityU, he earned his PhD in Engineering at Peking University and held postdoctoral appointment at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
