Polytechnic University of Catalunya, Spain

Mònica Reig studied Chemical Processes Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), where she obtained her PhD degree in 2016 (Cum Laude and awarded as the top PhD thesis submitted in 2016 in the Industrial Engineering field from UPC). Since 2023, she has been working as a Lecturer Professor at the Resource Recovery and Environmental Management (R2EM) group of the Chemical Department of the UPC (Spain).

Her research mainly focuses on resource recovery, valorisation and added-value products extraction by membrane techniques (e.g., electrodialysis, nanofiltration, membrane contactors) from wastewater and agro-waste residues. She has been involved in 16 competitive projects (9 nationally and 7 European funded) and 13 non-competitive projects/R&D contracts with several companies (e.g. Solvay Ibérica, S.L, IEM Research, ATLL, Archroma), being the principal investigator in 4 of them.
