B.S. Chemistry and Ph.D. Biochemistry, both University of California Berkeley. Associate Researcher at UC Berkeley and Associate Professor, Georgia Institute of Technology. Founded, with Dr. Joseph Weissman, EnBio, Inc., and SeaAg, Inc., microalgae and aquaculture companies. Founding director of the Algae Biomass Organization (ABO) and European Algae Biomass Association (EABA). Consultant and advisor to U.S. and international government agencies and companies. Principal investigator on US Department of Energy funded projects. Author of publications and reports on microalgae physiology, wastewater treatment, photosynthesis and biotechnology. CEO of MicroBio Engineering, Inc., a research and consulting engineering company he founded in 2015 with Prof. Tryg Lundquist, in San Luis Obispo, California.
