Tony Hu

Dr. Tony Hu, Zhao-Yi endowed professor and founding dean of Biomedical Engineering School at Tsinghua University, is a fellow of NAI, AIMBE, EurAsc, and IAMBE. Formerly a Presidential Chair at Tulane University, his research integrates engineered multi-omics, nanomedicine, and machine learning to transform biomarker discovery and diagnostics for infectious and malignant diseases. His work is published in high-impact journals including Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Biomedical Engineering, Science Translational Medicine, Nature Protocols and PNAS. In 2025, he received the ADLM Award for Outstanding Contributions to Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Hu has authored over 180 papers and 30 patents (16 licensed) and trained 82 researchers from 21 countries and co-founded four biotech startups, advancing his innovations from bench to bedside.
