Associate Professor of Computer Engineering

Proadpran Punyabukkana served as the Assistant Dean of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, from 2004 to 2008, and as an Associate Dean from 2008 to 2013. She joined Chulalongkorn University in 1993 and holds the position of Associate Professor of Computer Engineering. Proadpran was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue her doctoral degree at Claremont Graduate University. Her research has primarily focused on speech technology, specifically speech synthesis and speech recognition in Thai. In 2004, she and a colleague established the Spoken Language System Research Group, and in 2006, they started the Assistive Technology Research Group to explore the situation in the country. She received Fulbright Visiting Scholar grants as a Visiting Professor at MIT and Stanford in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Since the onset of COVID-19, her research interests have broadened to include AI for medicine and educational technology. As of October 2022, she has been serving as the Chief Learning Innovation Officer at Chulalongkorn University, overseeing innovation and technology within the university's learning environment. Since 2023, she has also been tasked with directing the university's AI initiatives, guiding its strategic approach to AI in education and research.
